Remember the children’s song, “It’s a Small World?” I'm sure you do. In fact, you've probably unconsciously started humming the song already. And if I'm right, you'll probably get this song stuck in your head for the rest of the day--or at least for the next few minutes.
The purpose of this annoying, I mean iconic song is to teach children that no matter what part of the world we may come from, we're all somewhat the same.
But have you ever wondered how small our world really is? How the perfect stranger you walk by in the street could understand more about you than you could ever imagine? How a stranger could know exactly how you feel at this very moment? How someone could have a touching story, yet you would never get the chance to hear it? How a perfect stranger could have the most interesting life, yet you would never know?
That is what this blog is about…meeting interesting people that you may never have had the opportunity to meet. Maybe you meet someone in the supermarket, or stumble past a person with a startling story at the bus stop, or perhaps even spark a conversation with someone in a coffee shop. The most interesting people you meet in your life could be a person you'll never see again.
So, my friends, I’m on a journey…a journey many of us experience everyday of our lives, whether we chose to or not. I’m on a mission to meet different and interesting people, and share with the world what this person has taught me. I believe that you can take something away from every person you meet—whether you realize it or not. Everyone has a story to share; everyone has a life to live…so why not share it?
Sometimes people say something touching or inspirational that can change your day, your life, or even your heart. Yet, it was that chance encounter of meeting this stranger that provided you with a different outlook on life.
Maybe, just maybe, our world is even smaller than we think.
So this blog is about those encounters, the small instances I share with a complete stranger.
